The Northern regional director of elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),  Rashid Tanko Computer has been searched by some personnel of the Ghana Police Service.

Rashid Tanko is under investigation after he allegedly threatened an entertainment show host of Tamale based Sagani Television, Sadiq Cyber with a gun following a misunderstanding over a woman.

Rashid Tanko who doubles as the former regional director of Youth Employment Agency is currently being investigated for besieging the house of the presenter with a gun in the company of two unidentified men.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko in an interview with Accra-based Kasapa FM said the incident happened on Sunday, at about 9pm.

He said the police received a complaint on Monday, August 1,2017 after the victim [Sadiq Cyber] alleged that the NDC executive had attacked him with a gun over his relationship with a lady.

ASP Yussif Tanko said Rashid Tanko denied the allegations after he was invited for enquiry adding that a team of investigators raided his home but did not find a gun.

According to him, investigations was still underway.

Rashid Tanko in response to the news asked the public to disregard the story.

He said "It’s a makeup story; Forget about them. It’s a mischievous thing. What kind of rubbish is that? When you say someone has threatened someone with a gun, that’s a lie. I’m even in Accra in a meeting; ignore them, just ignore them. They just want to make some news. I’m sure this our business, if they just want to divert some pressure from government they bring up certain things. Ignore them."
